APPLICATIONS DUE JUNE 8TH, 2018

Seeking New MEMBERS FOR Board OF DIRECTORS

The Cycling Museum of Minnesota is seeking applicants to our Board of Directors. Founded in 2014, CMM is an emerging museum located in Minneapolis. Our mission is to be a hub for unlocking the transformative role of bicycles. Our vision is that our work will lead people to better understand the foundational and continual influence of cycling and cyclists on our past, present, and future.

As we leave behind our start-up years, our most pressing needs will be to establish a firmer financial base, hire staff, and develop plans for program expansion. Board Members will have the opportunity to work with a committed, ambitious volunteer team in a community excited about CMM’s potential. To learn about the full range of exhibits and programs from our first four years, please visit CMM.bike.

We embrace diversity and strongly encourage candidates from underrepresented communities to apply. We particularly seek expertise in the following areas:

•    Fundraising, relationship building, volunteer management
•    Communications/social media
•    Business administration
•    Program/event planning

We are a working board. Members will commit to the following:
•    One monthly meeting, typically a Monday evening
•    One additional monthly/periodic subcommittee meeting (Collections and Exhibits, Communications, Finance/Development, and/or Programs); and
•    Average 5-10 hours of monthly service outside of meetings

To be considered, please send a letter or email of interest (one page or less), along with a resume or list of qualifications to Mike McGary at mmcgary@qbp.com . Please direct questions to Mike via email to mmcgary@qbp.com or via phone 520-549-9949

Application deadline is June 8, 2018

Applications will be reviewed with the goal of presenting a slate of nominees for a vote at the meeting of the full Board in July. Terms will begin in August.
